Ah, "Hail to the Chief" is a beautiful piece of music often associated with the President of the United States. It was actually composed by James Sanderson in 1812. Isn't it wonderful how music can evoke such a sense of honor and respect?

Hail to the Chief
"Hail to the Chief" started as an adaptation of a verse by Sir Walter Scott that was published in 1810. After having been rewritten and set to music as a march, it has been performed during US Presidential Inaugurations for many years and at some of the President's public appearances. It was proclaimed a tribute to the US President in 1954 and is usually played by the United States Marine Band on official occasions. It is usually preceded by four drum-rolls when played for the President.
