I think you might be mixing up two artists and titles here. "You're The Cream In My Coffee" wasn't written by Cole Porter, but it was performed by Nat King Cole. Cole Porter wrote "You're The Top" which expresses similar sentiments as the song above, and is probably why they get confused for each other.

Irving Gordon (1915- 1996) composed the music and lyrics to this song. It became famous when it was first recorded and performed by Nat King Cole in 1951. Gordon was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 for his contributions to Pop music. He also won a Grammy for this as song-of-the-year in 1992 after it was re-recorded and released by Natalie Cole (Nat King Cole's daughter) as a duet with the 1951 song her late father had recorded.
