Michael Jackson was one of musics greatest icons and went down in history for countless things. First and foremost he broke down racial barriers on TV including MTV. He was the first black entertainer to have a video played on that channel. Which brings me to my second point. He changed music videos, from the singer and or band standing on camera for the 4 minute song, into an art which had a storyline and was more like a short film than a music clip. His music video, Thriller is widely considered to be the best music video of all time. His album Thriller went on to become the world's best-selling album of all time, selling from what is estimated to be between 50 million - 110 million records. Which was followed by Bad, the second best-selling album of all time. His album Bad produced an unprecedented 5 number 1 hits while his album Thriller produced 7 top 10 hits, 3 of which reaching number 1. His 3 solo tours Bad, Dangerous and HIStory are the top 3 greatest concerts of all time with Michael breaking his own records consecutively. His Bad tour is also the highest grossing tour of all time. He has also won the most GRAMMY Awards ever won in one night, 8, for his album Thriller. And to sum up, he was the KING OF POP.
