Michael Jackson has vitiligo. This is a disease which causes depigmentation in patches of skin. To cover this up Michael used special cream's which made his skin more black, when this became harder to cover up he started using cream's which made the black areas on his skin white. About 2% of the world population had vitiligo, but most just have a some small areas which are whiter then the rest of the body.

Michael Jackson's assertion that "It don't matter if you're black or white" means that we are all people, regardless of our skin color. Consequently I would describe the song as socially constructive.
One way Michael Jackson did to promote racial equality was to sing the song 'Black or White'. For example, the lyrics, "If you're thinkin' of my baby, it don't matter if you're black or white"
because he is black

Michael Jackson had a Skin Disease called Vitiligo. It creates iregular patches of skin that can effect the DNA to become a brighter color like white, it can happend on any part of the body. Michael is Black on the Inside but on the outside Michael is White. Michael's Oldest kid: Prince Michael Jackson has SOME vitligo just like his dad. But yeah to the real question, Michael Joseph Jackson is Black on the inside and White on the Outside. He NEVER bleached his skin.
