The fuse blows because the current through it
exceeds the rated current limit of the fuse.
The fuse would most likely blow as a result of current flowing through it in excess of the current that the fuse is rated for. In general, there are two things that could cause this: Most likely, either the fuse installed was rated for less current than the radio uses in normal operation, or else a fault in the radio caused more current than usual to flow through the fuse.
short circuit in the circuit
THEY MAY ALL BE ON THE SAME FUSE, CHECK THE FUSE BOX FOR A BLOWN FUSE
AnswerHey just had the same problem in my 92 SC2. The radio fuse box is to the left of where the passengers feet would be. The thing is on mine (not sure if its the same with them all) the fuse was labeled "chime" instead of the actual radio fuse. Might want to get a fuse tester and check them all.Actually there is a Radio fuse, in the inside fuse box, however as mentioned above, usuallky it is the "chime" fuse which will blow.
something in your wiring is grounding the system out causing the fuse to blow. The fuse protects the system so dont try to by pass the fuse box or youll blow something much more expensive. make sure all your wires are hooked up correctly and use electric tape on every exposed wire.
