I had similar problems on two different Jeep Grand Cherokees, an both cases corrected the problem by cleaning the air intake with Carburetor cleaner; Just remove the air intake hose and spray a can of cleaner down the throttle body and start the engine; that should do the trick.

== == have you checked the fuel pump pressure? , or try to check if the oxygen sensor is on good shape, there are 2 cycles on the engine, open loop and close loop, so the car is just taking on the the cycles , and the computer assumes the car is shutdown so tries to close everything, probably fuel delivery too, and the car shuts down, but if the car hesitates try to give it gas with your foot, if it stays, then you have a fuel delivery problem, adgoitd@msn.com , if i could assist you on something that would be great I had the same problem so I changed the fuel filter. Fixed my problem. Jeep would shut off when I came to a stop or low idle.
