Is the viola popular?

The musical instrument isn't that popular compared to the violin. In most places musicians start of by playing the violin and then learn the viola afterwards. Violas don't often get the tune in orchestral pieces and therefore many people choose the violin over it. However the viola is becoming more popular and composers are starting to use it more often due to its deep, rich tone.

Is a viola higher or lower than a violin?

I play the viola, and it is lower than the violin. It has four strings like a violin, but on the violin, the strings are G, D, A, and E. On the viola, the strings are C, G, D, and A. So the viola can do four notes lower than the violin. I prefer the tone on the viola to the violin. It is also a bigger instrument than a violin, even though it is held the same way. If you are wondering whether to switch from the violin to the viola, you definitely should, in my opinion. It was one of the best things I did musically! The viola is better :)

Which is better viola or violin?

It depends. The violin is higher pitched than the viola. The violin is a more common instrument, so more music is written for it.Opinion:The viola is a far superior instrument to the violin. The violin is often a screechy instrument and most players are amateurs. The viola is the expert players instrument. It is larger and has a warmer, deeper tone so is a much nicer sounding instrument. A violin is essentially a college dropout while the viola went to a university and received a PHD.

Why the c natural on a string on the violin sound so bad compared to other notes?

If you put a viola c string on a violin, it will probably sound like a rubber band because the violin is not big enough to allow the sound to develop.

Can someone restring a violin to be a viola?

Well, no because it'll only end up being a violin... and the only difference between a viola and a violin is it's strings and the size of it for the note pitch.... Well the thing is that for people that aren't commfortable with the violin finger board, they usually have a viola, but there is violin strings. Which means that you are playing the violin all thought the body and shape is the viola. So you can use violin strings on a viola.

Why was the viola invented?

well... people were probably tired of violin and cellos so they created the viola. that's MY theory

Can someone restrain the violin to be a viola?

The violin will not by itself try to become a viola, so it doesn't have to be restrained. Should you want to restring it, you would have to use viola strings en set them at the right pitch. But since a viola is larger than a violin, you'll never get the exactly right viola sound in the ears of connaisseurs. Lesser people will hardly hear the difference.

Is the viola the highest member of the string family?

I don't think so. The viola (I think) is an octive lower then the violin. I think. I am not realy sure. Please look it up. Sources I am a 30 year old violin teacher.

How do you use violin in a sentence as an adjective?

The violin music wasn't available at the store, so I had to buy the viola version instead. The violin section stood up and walked out en masse.

What is good about viola?

A viola is a wonderful instrument used in the orchestra. Now Violin's get the higher parts in the song yet the Viola play the deeper darker pieces because a viola has a low C string and Violins have an high E string. I personally think the violin sounds like a dying cat so there you go sorry if not the answer you are looking for:)
