Kids text and talk on the phone during class which causes them to be very distracted. Parts of their knowledge are suffering from too much cell phone use. Also, social skills may be affected by the consisent phone use.

For the same reason, you should not use a computer while the teacher is talking. From experience, I can positively say that you do not hear the teacher when you are typing on a computer.

No, children should not be banned as they will need to learn the morals of technology these days and will need to be able to contact their parents and friends, this is not rocket science to be honest with you.

cell phones should be banned from schools because all schools have a main office phone and you can use a pay phone on the street if you need to contact your parents after school to let them know your safe.

I think that mobile phones should be banned cause it loses kids attention in class, and they can miss out on other types of subject. If something goes wrong you could ask a teacher.

Should mobile phones be banned?

This is more of an opinion question. There are advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones, but they are an integral part of many people's lives, that we must learn to live with, or find ways to reduce the disadvantages to an acceptable risk level. Somebody could make the argument that cars should be banned, because people die in car crashes. People are aware of the risks involved in riding a car, but if the risk is reduced then people will accept the risk in order to take advantage of the added convenience of automobile transportation.
