While I don't have hands-on personal experience, from what I've been able to gather from eBay descriptions the two pickguards are not compatible. I have seen manufacturers specifying that buyers need to be sure and order the correct pickguard for the correct guitar brand and that Epiphone and Gibson are not interchangeable. Further, I've seen special emphasis saying that some buyers have been upset that they bought the wrong one and it didn't fit.
Yes because epiphone are made by Gibson. epiphone are cheaper simply because they don't say Gibson.
yes , regardless of brand 99% of the time its all generic sizes otherwise they wouldn't sell in the guitar shop. So any light gauge set , any heavy gauge set.. ect, any questions feel free to message me.
Some parts will interchange and some do not! pickguard will interchange on some model ephi batwing can be used or slightly modified to fit; but not the early 60`s and some reissue 70`s models.. pup`s (pickup`s) will unless going from say p90 to standard humbuckers.. i guess the better question to ask you is what parts do you want to use from Gibson for your epi? after all you can get blanks and have someone make pickguard? or you make it? knobs are usually the same bridges sure you can find one for you epi.. remember with some know how? and patience and proper tools anything is possible
Absolutely depends on the genre of music you play with it. Most of the people are happy with the stock Gibson pickups that come with Gibson Les Pauls, these might be Burstbuckers, Classic 57s, 496R-500Ts, 490R-498Ts. These pickups are usually good for most kinds of music. You can also choose to fit your Les Paul with pickups from different manufacturers, like Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, EMG, Suhr, Bare Knuckle, etc. These pickups are usually fine-tuned for a given tone, so they might be a good choice if you are into something specific.
D'Addario or Dean Markley I go with. Even the cheap ones sound great because after new string sound is gone their all just copper plated wires or whatever.
