provided they are from the same year then i believe so. they may already be the same transfercase! just like many car brands almost all of the Jeep line is built on the same drivetrain with different frames/bodies, especially in the late 80's through the mid 90's.

It will swap with an np231. go with the tougher np 239 swap the output shaft. The 232 has a viscouse coupler that is good for street driving but will go out if real 4x4 action.

I don't believe so. 93 through 98 isinterchangeable on just about all parts for the ZJ. I believe 99 to 02 there were a lot of differences including glass and the length of the drive line.
