I would recommend pearl drums for the quality but if you are looking for a cheaper price i would recommend buying a pdp or mapex drumset.
I would recommend either Vic Firth or Pro Mark. They have more of a variety then other brands.

Depends on the brand and quality my first set was $200 it was a P.O.S but it worked to get me started. I've spent a lot more money on improving my drum set with new drum heads, cymbals and hardware.
