In New York, if the summons is not written correctly, it will dismissed. In your case, they had the wrong license number and wrong address written out so I guess 99.9% your case will be dismissed.
If the vin # is listed or any other correct information, such as your actual address and name, then the ticket is still good and won't be dismissed.
Yes, the ticket is issued under your license plate number and therefore under your person (unless of course the vehicle in question is not yours). It is civil duty to announce a change of address. And if the authorities have made an error in the address, put it to their attention when you pay the fine.
I have the same question! I was looking over the ticket I got last night and realized the officer clearly wrote a 9 as the last number in my drivers license number and the last number of my drivers license number is really a 3...I really hope this makes the ticket void.
It really makes no difference. If all the remainder of the info on the ticket is correct (name/address/DOB/etc) your drivers license number is available via the DMV files.
Absolutely. You have one drivers license. The ticket is tied to this drivers license number and therefore will go on your driving record no matter what state the license is from. It will definitely show up on your record.

it doesnt matter your driver license number , tag number , address on driver license is on the ticket and in most states officers have made record of the stop before actually pulling you over by doing a check of your tag . it is not enough to constitute a bad ticket
Sounds to me like the case for a new ticket or even arrest. Something is not kosher.

Speeding ticket are usually sent to the address on the license. However, if the officer notices that the license and registration addresses are different, they will ask for the correct one.
It depends. When officers pull you over they ask for your current physical address and you are required by law to give that address. Should you not give a current address you can be convicted of perjury for falsifying information to an officer so what your license says is irrelevant. I believe they can find about a ticket due to the fact your license number was taken down. I beleve driving records are tied to your license number just like your taxes are tied to your social security number, regardless of where you live.
NO, IT WILL FOLLOW YOU. Now all the states are "linked" a long time ago you could get away with it, but not now.
