Hello, Jamison here, Some cars have radios that are aimed at preventing theft, A default code is needed when the radio loses its CONSTANT power supply from the battery, This can be from the battery going DEAD for any reason it may have,or from the battery or radio being removed from the car. The radio will not come on until the code is entered. this is to keep someone from stealing your radio and installing it in another car. If it is the original radio for your car contact jaguar they have the code. If you bought the radio used, contact the person you bought it from. Good luck, Jamison

You can get the radio codes, for your 1993 Jaguar, from most Jaguar dealerships. The radio codes can be obtained from most auto-parts stores.
It's an anti-theft device used to lock out (disable) the radio in the event that it is stolen. You need the code to unlock it. The code is provided to the owner when purchased and should be with the original paperwork. If you can't find it, you may have to take the car in to a Jaguar dealer and have them unlock it. The radio doesn't have a battery. It uses the vehicle electrical system / battery. If the power to the radio is interrupted, you will have to reenter the presets. Make sure the fuses for the radio are not blown.
