Hello, Jamison here, Some cars have radios that are aimed at preventing theft, A default code is needed when the radio loses its CONSTANT power supply from the battery, This can be from the battery going DEAD for any reason it may have,or from the battery or radio being removed from the car. The radio will not come on until the code is entered. this is to keep someone from stealing your radio and installing it in another car. If it is the original radio for your car contact jaguar they have the code. If you bought the radio used, contact the person you bought it from. Good luck, Jamison
dealer has accss to radio codes, a 4-digit number you punch into the radio keypad. you need to provide them with the VIN number and the seial number of the radio. sometimes the previous owners will write this number into the inside covers of the owners manual; another writer said look on the underside of the hood possibly

Each radio has its own specifc code, if you did not pull the radio and get the code for the serial number on the exsisting radio it is possible that the original radio may have been replaced before and the code you have is for the original radio. You will have to go to a dealer to get the new number with proof of ownership.
Most Radios need the Radio Code punched in from the radio key pad. Call the Jaguar Dealership and ask for the service department. Tell them you need your radio code. They will ask the last 6 numbers of your VIN (Vehicle ID Number) and they will tell you it. It is usually a 4 digit number. When I called a dealership in Las Vegas, Nevada, the service department said they also required the serial number from the radio itself! Which of course involves pulling the unit out of the dash.....turns out XJ8 models destined for the USA don't need code re-setting to work.
In the USA . . . -- Any AM broadcast radio station must have a frequency between 550 and 1700 , and the last digit is always a ' 0 ' . -- Any FM broadcast radio station must have a frequency between 87.9 and 107.9 , and the last digit is always an odd number.

You can get the radio codes, for your 1993 Jaguar, from most Jaguar dealerships. The radio codes can be obtained from most auto-parts stores.

4 digit number that you can get for free from daewoousa.com You need to give daewoo the serial number off the radio. Dan
Theftlock causes the radio to stay off until the four digit code is entered. If you've never set one, the radio has a factory default code that will be listed in the owners manual. Default codes are usually 9999 or 1234 or something like that.
No there is no code on the serial number, you would have to get the code from the dealer with the serial number on the radio.
It's an anti-theft device used to lock out (disable) the radio in the event that it is stolen. You need the code to unlock it. The code is provided to the owner when purchased and should be with the original paperwork. If you can't find it, you may have to take the car in to a Jaguar dealer and have them unlock it. Good luck. When new Jaguar put the radio code on a sticker on the underside of the hood sometimes these were never removed, so look there for a four digit code
If you are talking about the radio code, no, there is no default code. Any dealer can supply you with the code, if you supply them with the radio serial #. You will however have to remove the radio to see the serial #. I would look everywhere for that code before going to that trouble. It is a 5 digit code.
unless you have the 4 digit number you cant...a visit to Audi is the only way
In the event you lose the radio code contact the dealership where you purchase the vehicle, have the VIN number it is on your car registration or on the dashboard in front of the drivers side. If you purchase the car from an individual you can call your local dealership or call corporate (Honda) toll-free number and have the VIN number available. By the way it is a 4 digit number that will activate your radio after the 4th digit is depressed on the radio. Good luck.
Its a factory security number to prevent the filchering of the radio The codes vary from BMW radio to radio depending on the serial number located on the back of the radio. If you lose battery power, the radio resets itself (supposedly to prevent theft) and a 6 digit code needs to be input into the radio to re-activate it. You need to take the BMW to your local dealer and they'll remove the radio, input the serial # into their system and it will relay what the 6 digit code is. Hope this helps.
