Time for some new air conditioner guys Check to make sure that the compressor is running
Check fuses and switch
Check that temperature control is working and set to cold position
The cluster is another name for the gauge assembly.
You have a ground from the oil sender unit to the gauge. This is how you check a gauge. ground out the wire at the sender and it pegs out the gauge.
I have found though my experiences that 99% of the time the fuel gauge sending unit in the tank has failed.
The plug or sensor above the oil filter on a 1996 Cherokee is the oil pressure sending unit. This sensor controls the oil pressure gauge.
Bad sending unit in tank.
One reason is engine overheating - check your temp gauge and coolant as a first step.
A 1990 Jeep Cherokee malfunctioning fuel gauge can be caused by a broken ground wire. The gauge will not function if the fuel float in the fuel tank is broken.
What do you want to know?
You will add the R-134a thru your low side port. You will need a gauge to check the PSI level when filling. (You do not need the Manifold gauge set). There are a lot of all in one products you can purchase that have the R-134a and oil included in them. Some will even come with a reusable gauge.
there is a short somewhere in dash or heater, you need to fix that to stop fuses blowing
The recommended wire size for an air conditioner installation is typically 10-gauge wire.
To charge the air conditioner in a 2001 Suburban, first locate the low-pressure service port, typically found on the larger diameter aluminum line. Attach a refrigerant gauge and hose to the port, then add the appropriate type of refrigerant (usually R-134a for this model) while monitoring the pressure on the gauge. Make sure to do this with the engine running and the AC set to maximum cooling. Always follow safety precautions and consider consulting a professional if you're unsure.
The engine has to power the air conditioner pump, so less revs are made resulting in less revs for the alternator, resulting in less volts so your gauge drops a little
If your oil pressure gauge is high you have to much oil in your engine. Overfilling your engine can result in you blowing out your gaskets.
The fuel gauge in a 2001 Cherokee could be having different readings due to a bad fuel sensor. The sensor is mounted inside of the fuel tank.
you have a dead short in the wireing.
