Congratulations on your 60th album! "Soundtrack Of My Life" is said to be a reflection of your life so far. What kind of story does "Soundtrack Of My Life" tell?

We've all got songs that remind us about life events. Some of the stories I share about these songs are about musicians/artists who inspired me throughout my career; such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Other stories are more personal; like the first time I met my wife, Debbie, or when I became a father. The album really is a soundtrack to my life.

You decided to celebrate five decades in show business by putting a spin on some of your all-time favorite songs. How was the creative process different this time around compared to your previous 59 albums?

I spent a lot of time thinking about which songs to record, as well as how to record them. Because, you've got to keep the integrity of song that people already know and love, but you've also got to make it your own.

There is also a free app that you created for the launch of "Soundtrack Of My Life". Can you explain to readers what is on this app and why they should download it?

I wanted the app to be a companion to the album, and also share each song as the album was being completed. The app would best be explained as a short storybook with audio clips. In it are the corresponding stories to each song.

How involved were you in the creation of this app? Have you always been tech savvy?

I love technology! And, that extends all the way back to when I was a child. I always try to get my hands on the latest gadgets. Yes, I was very involved in the creative process of building the app.

What does "My Cherie Amour" mean to you and why did you include it on your album?

I've always idolized Stevie Wonder's music and style. He, along with only a few others, has really influenced my own music. However, "My Cherie Amour" was the first 45 I ever purchased, and the first song I ever requested to be played on the radio -- I called up KHJ Los Angeles, and asked them to play it. They did!

If you had to choose one song that most accurately depicts your life, what would it be?

I had a hard time narrowing it down to twelve for the album. But, if I had to pick, I'd pick all twelve songs on the album.

Looking back, are there any songs that you wished you would have added to your album?

Yes. And, I just created that list on Spotify. Maybe I wouldn't record all of the them, but they are songs that have had an impact.

You have a natural knack for entertainment and performance...will you be performing your songs from "Soundtrack of My Life" anytime soon?

Thank you! I'm sure I'll add a couple of the songs to the Donny & Marie Show at The Flamingo in Las Vegas.

Your natural ability to perform also helped you to win season nine of "Dancing with the Stars". Where is the mirror ball trophy now?

In the lobby of The Flamingo Las Vegas, behind a bulletproof glass case, motion sensors, and video surveillance; that way Marie can't get to it.

You're currently a mainstay in Las Vegas, where you and sister Marie have a residency with at The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel. How would you describe your show in 3 words?

Best of Vegas! Seriously, the show has been awarded the Best of Las Vegas for three years in a row by The Las Vegas Review Journal. And, I'm grateful for the opportunity to be going into our seventh year in Las Vegas.
