It allows greater control over your voice, greater support, so that the breathing is effective, so that the sound is strong rather than weak, controlled rather than pathetic and lost. Even when singing quietly you have to have that support there to allow that control and resonance.

How I got into singing is that I tried out my singing voice, and of course that was my first time, so I was horrible...So the next day, I practiced singing some songs that I know, then I started getting the hang of singing, I became to be good at singing. A couple days later I was awesome at singing. I wanted to become a singer that day.At the end of the day, I sang all night, so I could change my singing to see IF I need to change it's see if I'm good. That's how I became a singer...
Learn how to use the voice. Taking voice lessons from a professional is the best way to learn. Sing with your cheekbones and soft palate raised and breathe into the diaphragm as opposed to into the lungs.

There are so many different ways to improve. For example, take singing lessons or you can join a chorus group. You can even improve by breathing exercises.

Practice, practice, practice. Begin with proper breathing. Check YouTube for a video on breathing exercises so you are singing with air, and not a pushed voice. As an alternative, you could take singing lessons at your local music store, or wherever they are offered. As well as do not sing out of your nose every one hears it and it is not good !

Depends upon the kind of singing you wish to do. If it's a serious study of the voice to improve your existing voice, the benefits are fairly obvious: constructive use of the brain, developing refined listenng skills and encouraging increasing lung capacity, all of which aids to overall good health. If you really want to be good at it, all of the aforementioned things must be in place. If you are talking strictly about recreational singing, it mostlly can promote social skills and 'feel-good' manner.
Consult a singing teacher, who can give specific advice.
It doesn't improve the sound of your voice but yes, running can help if you want to improve your voice you will need a vocal teacher or watch youtube videos. Anyways, running will keep you with a healthy body, so if you were 'obese' you wouldn't be able to produce the air, you can hold onto longer breaths & it's easier to sing, it keeps your body healthy so you can stay healthy and have a strong voice. Another thing I like to say, it also helps so now you can actually expand your lungs, also doing cardio helps too!
