Yes they are and you didn't spell rabbit correctly, Now don't judge me I know I have a wrong spelling but, Rabbits eats hay! That's their MAIN diet. Carrots are only given in little pieces, You may want to give them as treats only :) You may also give them pellets. Go check on Google on what pellets you should feed them!
