Hi!
Here is an Answer for the same question for someone looking for a LARP group in Birmingham, Alabama. Thought it was close enough for you as well!
"LARP Games come in two main categories; Live Combat (direct simulationist) and Theater Style (abstract resolution).
Live Combat games cover the gamut of all games involving foam swords and Medieval Mayhem, but also can cover games like Atlas Adventures (Indiana Jones-ish) to ApocaLARP (after-the-bomb roleplay with Nerf guns and the occasional stop sign as a "shield").
Theater Style games cover anything from wary Mob leaders playing a game of Poker during the Cuban Missile Crisis, to Vampire games (by far the most numerous in this category; think "Underworld")
And yeah, you can actually have a Lord of the Ring-ish game be a Theater Style game; it's simply a matter of preference.
Your best bet is look up on LARP social networks like http://www.larpspace.com or http://larpnetwork.ning.com as there is no greater resource in a given area than the locals that are involved there!
Also, you can look at Shade's LARPList at http://www.larplist.com.
I found a couple for you here...
In Birmingham

Theater Style group, based off White Wolf's World of Darkness campaign setting and using the MET (Mind's Eye Theater) rules from White Wolf. I believe this is the older game (the other is OWBN - One World By Night).
In Huntsville, North of you...

In Anniston, to your East...

Live Combat game, Battlegame (the first LARP in America - Dagorhir)

Live Combat game, Line Course. The IFGS was my first official LARP group I joined in 1992. If Dungeons and Dragons was a LARP, this would be it. The site is up, but it looks dead; IFGS has suffered over the years (founded in 1981) in comparision to World Course games (like NERO) and Battlegames (the easiest groups to create and maintain longterm).
Hope that helps!
Join up on LARPSpace and gimme a tell if you need anything else. I am Rick on that system, and as one of the Founders, am already your friend when you create an account.

There are thousands of active interest groups in the US across various sectors such as advocacy, business, environment, and social issues. It is difficult to provide an exact number as organizations continuously form and dissolve.
There are two electron groups around the central sulfur atom in H2S. This gives H2S a bent molecular geometry.
In dowex 2 the active part is -N(CH3)2(C2H4OH)(+) (all three groups linked with nitrogen atom, of course - I don't know if this formula is clear) and dowex 50 is simply -SO3(-)
Yes, coenzymes can facilitate metabolic reactions by binding to enzymes at their active sites and assisting in the transfer of functional groups or electrons between substrates. They often act as carriers of chemical groups or electrons, helping the enzyme's active site perform its specific function in the metabolic pathway.
The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is divided into two groups of nerves: sensory nerves, which transmit information from the body to the central nervous system, and motor nerves, which transmit information from the central nervous system to the muscles and glands to produce a response.
