Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli described his observations as "canali" - which unfortunately were optical illusions.
These canali were supposedly long straight lines on the surface of Mars to which he gave names of famous rivers on Earth. His term, which means 'channels' or 'grooves', was popularly mistranslated in English as canals.
Mars is the planet famous for its canals. However, it's important to note that these "canals" were a mistranslation of the term used for natural features on Mars and are not actual constructed waterways.
scientist thought that mars used to be leik full with water, plants, animals, and martians just leik Earth is leik now they thought this because when astronomers went up into space they found dry river beds whichh they called canals :D for more info you can also go to brainpop.com and search mars :D but i think u have to make an account first but its is very helpful to any questions you got
Telescopes are commonly used by astronomers to observe objects in space such as planets, stars, and galaxies. Microscopes are not typically used by astronomers as they are designed for studying very small objects on Earth, such as cells and microbes.
Telescopes are used by astronomers to collect light from celestial objects such as stars, planets, and galaxies. They enable astronomers to study these objects in detail, revealing information about their properties, composition, and motion. Telescopes can also help astronomers in detecting and studying phenomena like supernovae, black holes, and exoplanets.
Yes. Dark lines are absorption lines, they are due to relatively cool matter (such as that which might be found in a star's atmosphere as opposed to being in the body of the star itself), and each element has a characteristic pattern.
The reason astronomers were able to photograph the surface of Mars is due to probes, unmanned spacecrafts used for exploration in space.
well i think the mars rover is used for the future of science OR just researching mars' environment.:>
Sorry i carnt think
Astronomers have used telescopes and charge coupled devices.
Don't think so - the whey powder used is not suitable .
Because scientists think Mars used to sustain life and they need more info.

All of them.
There are no canals on Mars. The "problem" arose when Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli described the "lines" he saw as canali - Italian for lines or grooves. This was badly translated into English as canals and was used by Percival Lowell who prophesied that they were used to transport water from the polar caps to the "water starved populous" in the middle regions. They are in fact nothing more than optical illusions.
This was because the orbits of those planets suggested there was something pulling in the direction of the belt. When astronomers looked there, they did not find a planet, but instead a collection of asteroids. It was these that were pulling on the planets.
