Yes
No, it is not safe to put a cork stopper on a gasoline can. Gasoline can produce vapors that are flammable, and using a cork stopper can create a buildup of pressure or even lead to a risk of explosion. It is essential to use the appropriate and tightly sealed lid designed for gasoline containers to ensure safety.
Because of the fumes. Technically if you threw a match at a gallon of gasoline and could get it past the fumes the match would go out when it hit the liquid. But the match will pass through the fumes and ignite and then the gasoline will ignite and burn or explode. So an empty barrel is all fumes and therefore an explosive environment exists in the drum.
Most likely an extinguisher that uses sand or foam to choke the oxygen out of the flame because this type of fire is hard to put out with water or other means.
When gasoline is mixed with water, it creates a thin film on the surface due to their immiscibility. This film acts as a prism, separating white light into its component colors and creating a rainbow effect. The colors in the rainbow are produced by the light bending and reflecting through the thin film of gasoline and water.
It would be best to throw it away. I am sure they probably do have some kind of clenser than can clean it, but would you really want to wrap yourself or anyone else up in a blanket that was soaked in a combustible liquid? Whatever you do, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE put it in the washer or dryer...especially the drier (it will blow up, and i am not kidding) and if you put it in your washer then it will ruin it (you will get gasoline on everything else you put in there from then on). If it is only going to be used for garage work, then I am fairly certain you can just hang it outside (avoid direct sunlight) and he gasoline will evaporate.
If they were very over-heated or if you poured gasoline on the laptop and put a lit match on top of it.
with a match and gasoline
Match test. Gasoline generates bigger boom.
If you're asking what will happen if you put gasoline in a diesel engine, the engine will be destroyed if you run it on gasoline.
5 gallons of gasoline and a match
Nothing. A match goes out as long as it's deprived of oxygen. If you put it in any liquid (EXCEPT FOR GASOLINE. DON'T EVEN TRY GASOLINE!) it will go out because, as far as anybody knows, no liquids contain enough oxygen. Hot, cold, medium so water, it will only be extinguished and nothing more. don't do oil either.
Get the system darined ASAP
You bet. Gas cans can hold any fluid. Let's talk about the difference between gasoline and diesel. Diesel has a lower viscosity rating than gasoline, thus a higher flash point, because it's thicker and more difficult to ignite than gasoline. Simply put, it's more oily than gasoline. Pour diesel on a log fire and strike a match to it, it ignites slowly and is easier to control. Pour gasoline on a pile of logs and strike a match to it, and after the bright light and loud wooof, you find youself without eyebrows and forearm hair. Store diesel in gas cans? Sure. But make sure and label it as diesel so you don't mistakenly think that it's gasoline and put it four cycle engines like a lawn mower or in your car. Regardless, treat it with the respect it deserves.
Pour 5 gallons of gasoline in engine bay. Strike match and ignite gasoline. Presto! All fixed!
Don't know how much gasoline was put in or how much diesel was in the tank before gasoline was added but if you didn't run the engine after the gasoline was put in and you drained it, you should be okay.
You don't. You douse it with gasoline and throw a match on it.
They can catch fire and burn up but they only explode in the movies. gasoline and a match
