Longitude lines appear "vertical" and latitude lines appear "horizontal." Every single line of longitude passes through the equator. If you meant to say latitude, then the answer is no. Not a single one (they run parallel).

On what line of longitude is the equator located?

It's not located on any paticular line. All longitude lines pass through it.

When moving north or south from the equator what does the lines of longitude do?

Any two lines of longitude you choose get closer togetheras they proceed from the equator to the poles.

Where are lines of longitude farthest apart?

Lines of longitude are farthest apart where they intersect the line of the equator.

What are further apart at the equator than at the poles?

Lines of constant latitude don't cross the equator. Any two lines of constant longitude are farthest apart at the equator, and meet at the north and south poles.

What parallel divides Earth into two equal parts?

The equator or any of the lines of longitude (which meet at the poles).

Do any lines of latitude pass through the equator?

The equator itself IS a line of latitude.

If you travel 10 degrees of longitude along the equator the distance traveled will be very diffrent from the distance traveled through 10 degrees of longitude at 60 degrees n latitude why?

Yes, because lines of longitude converge at the poles. The distance between longitude lines will always decrease the further you are from the equator. Lines of latitude remain equidistant. This is why no map is always accurate. Think of peeling an orange and try laying it flat on the table.

Lines of longitude that passes through south Africa?

-- Sweden ranges in longitude from 11° to 24.2° East. -- Greece ranges in longitude from 19.4° to 26.6° East. -- Zambia ranges in longitude from 22° to 33.7° East. So, any 'line' of longitude between 22° E and 24.2° E passes through all three of those countries. There are an infinite number of them.

What are the imaginary parallel lines numbered in degrees around the north and south of the equator?

both latitide as horizontal and longitude as vertical

What are the special name of latitude and longitude?
