it does not have to have a separate line from the utility...but it typically has a line running from the already existing line within the home... like remove an elbow from the furnace line and install a tee, then a shutoff valve, then the line to the dryer. After the line arrives in the viscinity of the dryer, it should have another shutoff valve prior to connection to the dryer. Local codes may require additional fittings ot shutoffs... we love our gas dryer... wouldn't have an electric model...

Can you add a shower drain to a tub drain or does it need its own waste and vent line?

It's best to have a separate waste and vent line for a shower drain. Introducing a shower drain to a tub drain without a separate line can lead to drainage issues and potentially cause backups or slow draining in the system. It's important for each fixture to have its own dedicated waste and vent line to ensure proper drainage and venting.

How do you create a dedicated circuit?

A "dedicated" circuit is one to which only one device is or can be connected; therefore the circuit is "dedicated" to the device. A NON dedicated circuit will therefore be one to which multiple devices can connect, such as the wall outlets in your home. Multiple wall outlets are connected to a common circuit breaker, making that an example of a non-dedicated circuit.

How do you find out if there is natural gas on your property?

Two things I get from this question. Can I drill for gas? or Does my house have a gas hookup? First geological surveys can be done to determine if the placement of an oil well, where Natural gas comes from, on your property is feasible. For the second, if there is a gas line in the street serving your neighbors, there is probably a stab off for your own house, contact the local gas company.

How many amps for a gas dryer?

Check the appliance's specifications on the strip, tag or plate that is usually fixed either on the back or inside on the frame, just inside the door. On there you will find its required operating voltage and wattage that it draws. If your home has 240 volt line voltage just divide the watts by the volts for the answer.Example: for a 2400 watt drier on a 240 volt line, using the formula watts / volts = amps would give you 10 amps. For a 120 volt drier it would be 20 amps.

Can you wire your water heater and dryer to the same breaker?

Under no circumstances should you do this.. for one they probably have different power requirements, but also they are high current devices, and by code MUST be put on separate branch circuits

When should you purchase a new dryer rather than repair an old one?

You should buy a new one when the repair cost more then the worth of a new dryer or the worth of the old dryer itself. Also take into consideration the number of years that you have own the dryer and how reliable it will be even after repairs.
