Nature can be seen as both a boon and a bane to mankind. It provides essential resources such as food, clean water, and raw materials, supporting life and economic development. However, natural disasters like earthquakes and floods pose significant threats to human safety and infrastructure. Ultimately, our relationship with nature depends on how we manage and respect it, highlighting the need for sustainable practices.
Science has provided mankind with a deep understanding of the natural world, leading to advancements in technology, medicine, and quality of life. It has revolutionized communication, transportation, food production, and healthcare, making life easier and more efficient for people around the world.
A boon is something to be thankfull for, it is a blessing and a benefit. A bane causes misery and distress. (Bane comes from an old European word meaning death and destruction)

The debate of whether science is a boon or a bane has people on both sides with their own reasons. Science has helped mankind with medical advances and other developments and growth yet it has also brought destruction and violence.

Science can be both a boon and a bane depending on how it is used. On the positive side, it has led to significant advancements in medicine, technology, and our understanding of the world. However, it also has the potential to be destructive when used for harmful purposes like developing weapons of mass destruction.
I wouldn't call science a bane, but it does deserve to be considered a mixed blessing. Science gives great power to humanity, but humanity does not always use its power wisely. A bane is someone or something that ruins or spoils things, something that causes death, destruction and ruin. There are at least two levels on which science could be considered a bane. The first is the invention of things that have had a deleterious effect on the world such as weapons of mass destruction or toxic wastes that can poison inhabitants for years. The second major group for whom science is a bane are the deeply religious who prefer to use scripture and other man-made material to explain human existence and human destiny. Science is their enemy since it has explained a lot of the mysteries that plagued early humans and in doing that has neutralized much of the power that the clergy has held over believers.
