the heat capacity of substances differ according to material. water in seas has a higher heat capacity and requires a lot of heat to raise its temp by one degree; much more than land. hence during the day the land absorbs much more heat than the sea and becomes hotter. this creates currents that blow from the sea to the land cooling the land in the day and a reverse during the night. therefore areas near the coast are cooler in summers and hotter in winter due to their proximity to large water bodies.

What types of ocean climate?

The climate by the ocean is less variable then over the land, the temperature ranges are more narrow, water tempers the swing in temperature compared to land.

What determines the weather conditions and climates of land?

The ocean and air temperature determines the weather conditions and climate of land.

How does currents wind and how far from the equator you are affect climate?

Ocean currents can influence climate by redistributing heat around the world. Warm ocean currents can bring heat to nearby land areas, while cold currents can cool the air temperature. Winds can also impact climate by carrying moisture and affecting temperature. Near the equator, the climate tends to be warmer due to more direct sunlight, while areas farther from the equator experience more seasonal variations in temperature.

What is the relationship between relief and climate?

Relief, or the physical landscape of an area, can influence climate by affecting factors such as temperature, precipitation, and wind patterns. For example, mountains can block weather systems and cause rain shadows, leading to different climate conditions on either side. Coastal areas may experience milder climates due to the moderating effects of the nearby ocean.

Why is there a fear of climate change for the ocean?

The fear is because of the increase of temperature, meaning the glaciers down South and up North will melt. It will create more water for the ocean which could gradually come onto beaches and in the cities. Blame global warming...

What effects do ocean currents have on the ocean?

they change the oceans temperature.

What factor has a direct effect on precipitation and climate?

Latitude, elevation, proximity to the ocean, and the temperature of any ocean currents effect the temperature of a location. Temperature, in combination with landforms and distance from large bodies of water, effects humidity and precipitation. Temperature, humidity, and precipitation are the main aspects of climate, along with wind direction and seasons, which are effected by latitude and the other above factors.

How do ocean currents affect coastal climate temperature?

no

Why do areas of the northeastern and southeastern north america have similar climates in the summer?

They have the same climate: a continental climate. This can be explained by its position on the planet and the effects of the Atlantic Ocean.

What property of ocean water affects climate most?

Its heat capacity

How does temperature effect climate?

I think temperature effects climate because temperature may be different depending on the area or place.

How does altitude distance from the ocean amount of sunlight distance from the equator and ocean currents affect this climate?

Altitude affects climate by causing cooler temperatures due to lower air pressure. Distance from the ocean impacts climate by influencing temperature and humidity levels, with coastal areas having milder climates. Amount of sunlight affects climate by determining temperature and seasonality. Distance from the equator influences climate by affecting temperature, with areas closer experiencing warmer temperatures. Ocean currents impact climate by transporting heat and moisture, affecting temperatures along coastlines.

How does living near ocean affect climate?

Living near an ocean can moderate climate by providing a source of moisture and heat, which can stabilize temperatures. Ocean currents can also influence climate by transporting heat around the globe. Coastal areas can experience milder winters and cooler summers compared to inland regions due to the ocean's moderating effects.
