To change the water temperature sender, locate the sensor usually near the engine block or thermostat housing. Disconnect the electrical connector, use a wrench or socket to remove the sensor, then replace it with a new one and reconnect the electrical connector. Make sure to use thread sealant on the sensor threads to prevent leaks.
it changes the temp. by the temperature outside, like if its cold out the water will be cold and if it's hot outside than the water will be hot
During a phase change, the energy that is added or removed from the water is used to change the arrangement of water molecules rather than increase the temperature. This energy is used to break or form intermolecular bonds between the molecules, leading to a change in state (solid, liquid, gas) rather than a change in temperature.

Water stays at a constant temperature when it boils unless it is under pressure. More heat just makes it boils faster. The boiling temperature is around 212F or 100C varying somewhat with the altitude and the purity of the water.
Yeah - but remember the increase in temp is always on the kelvin scale. Proportions are related to zero kelvin.
only 3 reasons a temp gauge wont work the temp sender is bad the gauge is bad or the wire from temp sender to gauge is broken
Does anybody know the answer to this question??????? YES I HAVE THE ANSWER...REPLACE THE TEMP GUAGE. ITS NOT AS HARD AS YOU WOULD THINK...ABOUT A 20 MIN. JOB ------------------------------------------------ I tried replacing the temp gauge but that wasn't the problem for me. On top of the engine is a temp sender that is all so easy to get to but it is for the engine computer. The temp sender for the gauge is under the water pump. My temp sender went bad because the water pump started leaking. It is like the engine is headed for a major problem of over heating but it disables the temp sender which warns the driver of over heating. It is not easy to change the temp sender but it is doable if you pull off the thermostat housing. Don't put the old thermostat back in. Also, don't get an aftermarket temp sender, I got one and it reads 3/4 hot all the time. It only cost me $5 but I wish I had have bought from the dealer what ever it cost.
1,ooo,000,000,
Take wire off temperature sender look a guage. If guage at cool, temp sender needs replacement. If guage still at hot, temp sender wire shorted to engine or vehicle body.
where it the temp sensor sender located on a 2001 gmc Jimmy
Most intake manifolds have a couple of pipe plugs in them. Put the sender in one that isn't needed for anything else.
temp sender located
Temp sender on the 289 should be located at the front of the intake manifold. Source: www.AverageJoeResto.com
temp sensor - sends signals to the computer for driveability temp sender - measures temp and sends to gauge in dash
There are numerous sensors (two water temp fan switches, temp sender, oil pressure, etc). What sensor are you asking about?
It is the little conecter next to the thermostat housing, (upper rad hose area)
The pressure sender is on the rear of the block, on the top...mounted on an "L" tube near and kindoff under the distributor. The oil temp sensor is on the side of the block, I forget exactly where...sorry. There is also a water temp sensor and a detonation sensor on the sode of the block....
