Most likely rust has settled in. The best way is to remove the door panel and spray all the parts with either a rust spray, or Wd40. If you cannot open the door to get the panels off, then roll down the window, and use an oil can and squirt oil all over the lock parts, and work the lock at the same time. just remove the door trim then carfully remove the plastic film so u can replace it...now u can remove the door lock....once u remove its retaining clip it will puch out.

if it is the circular metal bracket then you need a nail punch in one of the holes using a hammer knock it in the direction of the metal tabs to release. refit the opposite way
