Apply ice immediately for about 30 min or so to reduce swelling. I recommend that you take some medication for pain. See a doctor if needed. If not i would also recommend wearing a splint for about 5 days or longer. Sometimes moving your finger reduces your stiffness over time. Your finger should return to normal for about 1 week or less, if major then probably more.

if its on your right hand you tape your jammed finger to the one on the right of it (if its your pinky tape it to the ring finger). if its on your left hand tape the jammed finger to the one on the left of it. tape from the bottom up
