Miami (East Coast of Florida) is the prime target simply because of wear it is located..the tropical depression (disturbances form off the coast of Africa and because of the air flow ( air currrents and air pressure of the earth) they ( Atlantic hurricanes) go west. Also the air is warmer to the south, and provides a better catalyst for stronger hurricanes. (The hotter the better as far as the hurricane is concerned).
