Biodiveristy provides the air we breathe (the oxygen, the nitrogen, and the carbon dioxide), the water we drink (without life on Earth, our planet would be much colder), the food we eat, and the soil on which our crops grow. It pollinates plants, and clears pollution. It provides cotton and wool, firewood and timber and wax, aspirins and quinine. It provides beauty and artistic inspiration and spiritual solace.
