It helps it by keeping the plants and trees alive. We are simmilar to animals and plants in an ecosystem. Without the suns energy we would be dead. It is the same way in an ecosystem. So basicly the sun provides all life to the Earth. If you have any more science questions e-mail me at austindennis1999@Yahoo.com. I will reply.

Which is not an abiotic factor that affects an ecosystem capacity to support life?

sunlight

What kind of energy is inputted in an ecosystem?

The kind of energy that is inputted in an ecosystem is solar energy. Whether indirectly or directly, all living things use sunlight to maintain life.

What is a single ecosystem include?

A single ecosystem includes all living organisms (plants, animals, microorganisms) interacting with non-living factors (water, air, soil) in a specific area. These interactions form a complex web of relationships where energy and nutrients are exchanged to support life within that ecosystem.

In an ecosystem what are the point of energy for new energy?

In an ecosystem, the primary source of new energy comes from the sun through the process of photosynthesis carried out by plants. This energy is then transferred through the food chain as organisms consume other organisms. This transfer of energy sustains life within the ecosystem.

What role does sunlight play within an ecosystem?

Sunlight is essential for photosynthesis, the process by which plants and other organisms convert sunlight into energy. This energy is then used by plants to produce food, which forms the base of the food chain in most ecosystems. Additionally, sunlight helps regulate temperature and provides a source of warmth to support various life processes within the ecosystem.

How does energy flow in an ecosystem and what role does it play in sustaining the various organisms within it?

Energy flows through an ecosystem in a one-way direction, starting with the sun providing energy to producers like plants through photosynthesis. This energy is then transferred to consumers, such as herbivores and carnivores, as they eat the producers or other consumers. Each level of the food chain uses some of this energy for their own growth and metabolism, but most of it is lost as heat. This flow of energy is crucial for sustaining the various organisms within the ecosystem, as it provides the necessary fuel for growth, reproduction, and other life processes. Without this energy flow, the ecosystem would not be able to support the diverse range of organisms that depend on it for survival.

When energy is transferred in an ecosystem potential energy is lost as?

When energy is transferred in an ecosystem, potential energy is lost as heat. As organisms consume food, energy is converted to fuel various life processes. This energy is then released as heat during cellular respiration, contributing to the overall entropy of the system.

Why are decompose-rs important to the ecosystem?

they help the ecosystem because they eat dead or decaying organisms to reproduce more....hense the circle of life.

How does the energy flow chart in an ecosystem illustrate the transfer of energy between different organisms and trophic levels?

The energy flow chart in an ecosystem shows how energy is transferred between different organisms and trophic levels. It demonstrates that energy is passed from one organism to another as they consume each other. This process creates a flow of energy through the ecosystem, with energy decreasing as it moves up the trophic levels. The chart helps illustrate the interconnectedness of organisms and how energy is essential for sustaining life within the ecosystem.

How has the tsunami and earthquake in Japan affected the many ecosystem and their ability to support life?

It damaged their houses, buildings, and everything.

What are two requirements of self-sustaining ecosystem?

A self-sustaining ecosystem requires a constant source of energy, typically from the sun, to drive processes like photosynthesis and support food chains. Additionally, it needs a recycling of nutrients through decomposition and interactions among organisms, ensuring that essential elements like carbon and nitrogen are reused within the system. These components allow the ecosystem to maintain balance and support diverse life forms over time.

In an ecosystem what moves between organisms Why is this important?

I am pretty sure that you copied the fifth question on the back of a worksheet, 5.3 Food Chains.......and the answer is in the text....but i'll give it to you anyways. Energy flows through organism to help it to live. If organisms didn't have energy they would die out.
