RBC entirly depends on glucose metabolism for the energy supply. Glucose is transported across the cell membrane by facillated diffusion. Cell have no mitochondria but have cytoplasmic enzyme for metabolizing glucose and other substance and for utilization of oxygen. As the metabolic system becomes progressively less then it will limit the life sapn of rbc. That's why rbc can perform normal work 120 days without nucleus.
