This link answers a lot of questions about Mercury. It includes sources of exposure and how long it takes to leave the body.

For general information:

For specific toxicology:

It appears that most Mercury from fish will leave your body over months, if exposure is stopped. However, some Methylmercury (the kind from fish) can be converted by your body to inorganic mercury. Inorganic mercury in your brain is reported not stay there a long time.
