Immpossible to say. Many millions, mostly very small, strike the earth each yesr.
About 165 Earth years.
Small meteors hit the Earth every minute of each day. Larger meteors, big enough to be visible, hit the Earth several times each hour. In a "meteor shower", you may see over a hundred meteors an hour. Big meteors, big enough to hit the Earth, happen a few times every day. There are dozens of meteorite museums all over the country. Really big meteors, enough to cause a lot of damage, are fairly rare, fortunately. The last REALLY big meteor landed in Siberia, 100 years ago; it caused as much damage as an atomic bomb! Fortunately, very few people lived in Siberia back then.
There have been three large tsunamis that have struck Hawaii in the last 200 years, occurring in 1946, 1952, and 1960. These tsunamis were generated by earthquakes in the Pacific Ocean, causing significant damage and loss of life in Hawaii.
Earth never passed through Halley's Comet. It has been seen from Earth on many occasions. This happens about every 75 or 76 years. The last time was in 1986 and the next time it is expected to be seen from Earth will be in 2061.Earth never passed through Halley's Comet. It has been seen from Earth on many occasions. Earth wasn't destroyed by the Sun in the last few billions of years, so probably no.
I've seen one estimate that there are 3,000 meteor strikes a day.If that's an accurate average, then it adds up to something like33 million in the past 300 years.
Meteors CAN BE very dangerous, depending on their size; for example, we believe that an asteroid about 10 miles long collided with the Earth about 65 million years ago and killed off about 70% of all life on the planet. At that time the dominant life form on Earth were the dinosaurs, and almost all of them were killed off. (The descendants of the dinosaurs today are birds and lizards. Every time you eat a chicken, you are re-enacting the triumph of mammals over dinosaurs.) Most of the 10,000 meteors that strike the Earth each day are nothing more than pretty lights in the sky. But a boy in Germany was struck by a pea-sized meteor that hit is hand a couple of years ago, and last year a meteor crashed through a doctor's office in Virgina; nobody was injured, but it could have killed someone.
Every day, the Earth is struck by thousands and thousands of meteors. Most of them are tiny; the size of a grain of rice or smaller. But bigger things do hit us occasionally. Last year, a meteor the size of a car exploded over Africa. In 1908, a meteor struck central Siberia, causing an explosion as powerful as a nuclear bomb, knocking down trees for miles and starting a forest fire.
Lunar craters can last for billions of years, as they are formed by impacts from meteors and asteroids which are infrequent occurrences. The lack of weathering and erosion on the Moon preserves these craters for extended periods of time.
Uranus is the planet that last 84 Earth years to complete one orbit around the Sun.
About 165 Earth years.
no
Meteors hit the moon fairly frequently due to its lack of atmosphere to burn them up before impact. The Moon's surface is covered with impact craters, evidence of past meteor strikes. On average, it is estimated that the Moon is hit by meteors about 2800 times per year.
The atmosphere is like a veil that shields us from bad things like meteors. Another reason why we depend on it is that it keeps oxygen in earth. The last one, I have no clue.
half a billion years left. But that does not mean that PEOPLE will last that long. ;-)
The planet itself will at least last for another 2-3 billion years, if your thinking about life on earth then I'd say about at least 10,000 years.
