Galileo invented the TELESCOPE NOT THE microscope! The invention occured in l609.This paralelled the discovery of Manhattan by Henry Hudson. He was certainly a mature man at the time(Galileo) By the way the Italian optical firm Officina Galileo which was established in the mid-late l9th century was named in his honor, somebody asked if anything was done posthujously to honor Galileo. The name literally translated means Galileo Office, some wouldsay, colloquially Galileo workshop. actually, Galileo did not invent the telescope, he just made it better, and the version he made, is still used today. yup he just made it more complex
Galileo made his first telescope in 1609, modeled after telescopes produced in other parts of Europe that could magnify objects three times. He created a telescope later that same year that could magnify objects twenty times. With this telescope, he was able to look at the moon,
Any telescope will do this but traditionally the old fashioned brass telescopes were refracting telescopes.A refracting or refractor telescope is a dioptric telescope that uses a lens as its objective to form an image. The refracting telescope design was originally used in spy glasses and astronomical telescopes but is also used in other devices such as binoculars and long or telephoto camera lenses. == ==
When Hans Lippershey died he was about 49 years old.And He invented the telescope at age 38 so both of those things happened only 11 years apart.
The Telescope Inventor, Hans Lippershey, was believed to have been in his 40s when he made the telescope around 1608.
He invented the reflecting telescope in 1668 when he was 25
Hans Lippershey was born on 1570. He died on September 1619 (aged 48-49)
Welll it was invented in 1609 by Gslileo Galilei. So about 400 years old.
James Gregory was 25 when he published the design of the telescope that has come to be named for him, the Gregorian Telescope. He never build one. The first one built was make by Robert Hooke ten years after the design was published, and after Isaac Newton built his Newtonian Telescope. Both were reflecting telescopes.
