Look inside the holes for 1 2 and 3 and make sure they don't have a color on the inside.
The white wire goes to the silver screw terminal (neutral), the black wire goes to the brass screw terminal (hot), and the green or bare wire goes to the green screw terminal or grounding clip (ground). Make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and adhere to electrical safety practices when installing the outlet.
Test the wire with a meter to determine which wire is your hot, which is your neutral, and which is your ground. Those colors are indicative of a 240v circuit normally, so you may have two hots and a ground. Other wise Hot=Black, Neutral=White, and Ground=Green for placement. On your plug, Black/Hot goes to the brass colored terminal. Green/ground goes to the sometimes green terminal that is off by itself usually at the bottom of the receptacle. The neutral goes to the silver terminal.
If you are talking about a 4-wire branch circuit you'll need to start with a 220 VAC breaker. It will have two terminals. Connect black and red wires to the two terminals. Doesn't matter in which order you make this connection. The white wire goes to the neutral bus bar where all other white wires are connected. The green or bare wire goes to ground bus where other bare wires are connected.
Black wire to gold screw terminal, white wire to silver screw terminal, ground wire to ground terminal. I am sorry, I can't even begin to answer this question. I don't what you are trying to do and I am positive you don't either. Call a pro, please...pkazsr

1)Raise the hood. 2) Locate the battery. It will be that big black rectangle with a big red wire and a big black wire coming off it. 3) Remove the red wire and the black wire. Be careful not to touch both ends at the same time, or lay a tool across the two terminals. 4) Lift out the old battery. Careful, it's heavy. 5) Put in the new battery. 6) Reattach the red and black wires. The Red goes on the spot marked "+" and the black on the spot marked "-". 7) Spray a little skoooch of WD-40 on the terminals. 8) Lower the hood. 9) Start 'er up...
In typical American wiring the black wire on an outlet goes to the gold (copper) screw and the white wire goes to the silver screw. The ground wire goes to the green screw.
