Yes. The white wire (the "neutral") is the "return" for the hot. Recall that electric current had to "get to where it is used" and then has to "get back" to the outlet. (A complete circuit is necessary.) You need the black wire (the "hot" wire) to carry the current out and the white wire to carry the current back, and the currents should be equal. You don't want any current returning on the ground wire or "leaking to ground" from anywhere in the circuit. Another way to look at this is that the black and white wires form "rails" for the voltage. Anything hooked up is connected "across" the rails. It's connected from the black to the white - from one rail to the other. All the appliances in the house are connected in parallel across the black and white, or in parallel across those voltage rails. (That's why all appliances operate on the same voltage and why if one fails, it doesn't affect any of the others.)
The current flowing in a normal household lighting electric bulb is AC. DC systems are just a fraction of 1% in ordinary household systems. The current flowing in a flashlight bulb is Direct Current (DC) if the flashlight runs on batteries.
A grounded conductor, typically the neutral wire in an electrical system, is usually colored white or gray. However, in some cases, it may be a different color depending on local electrical code regulations.
In standard electrical wiring, the black wire is typically the "hot" wire carrying the current, while the white wire is the neutral wire returning the current. If the wire has clear insulation, it may be difficult to distinguish between the two visually. It is best to use a voltage tester to determine which wire is hot.
Wire is not sized properly for the current that flowing thru. Replace it as soon as as possible, it will burn if you don't. Under sized wiring is the number one reason for house fires in US
There are currently no black dwarfs. The time it would take for a white dwarf to cool to a black dwarf is greater than the current age of the universe.
Some of the White House permanent staff may be Democrats, if they haven't been run off by the Bush administration, but the current administration is all Republican.
House wiring is almost always parallel. Series wiring may be used for some switch circuits, however.
Some websites focusing on current issues in education are the Economist, BBC News and the White House. There are also education-based websites which also focus on issues in education.
the white house holds an Easter egg hunt
Not necessarily. It would depend on the condition of the wiring. If it is an older house with cloth covered wires it may be advisable to rewire. If existing wiring is aluminum you might also consider rewiring. Depending on the length of wires that enter the current box, you may need some external junction boxes.
A lot of things like the white house is white..
NO US president was born in THE White House. Some were undoubtedly born in white houses.
a big house
the white house was mostly made of marble and wood. some other thing were put into to it.
oboma
mostly the whole house has different features such as the oval is the oficial office of the president and the white
No ghosts are verifiable. Some say there are some.
