Digestive system
The first task of the digestive system is to break down food into a fine pulp (mechanical digestion). When the food is physically broken down, digestive chemicals break the food down into small molecules (chemical digestion). The mouth is the organ in which the process of digestion begins.(Google)
The two kinds of digestion in the digestive system are mechanical digestion, which involves physically breaking down food into smaller pieces through chewing and grinding, and chemical digestion, which involves the breakdown of food molecules into nutrients by enzymes and acid in the digestive tract.
Tissues in the digestive system, like the mucosa and submucosa, help with nutrient absorption and secretion of digestive enzymes. Cells such as epithelial cells line the gastrointestinal tract and aid in nutrient transport. Overall, tissues and cells work together to facilitate digestion, absorption, and processing of nutrients in the body.
Autonomous nervous system. Consisting of Parasympathetic nervous system and Sympathetic nervous system. Parasympathetic nervous system increases the secretions of digestive tract and Sympathetic system decreases the secretions. Parasympathetic system increases the contractions of smooth muscles and increases the rate and force of peristalsis and Sympathetic system does vise verse.

It stimulates processes such as salivation, gastric secretion, and intestinal motility, promoting digestion and absorption of nutrients. This system is often referred to as the "rest and digest" system, as it helps the body conserve energy and focus on digestion during restful states.
The many portions of the digestive tract and the associated organs secrete hormones that encourage various function of digestion. Additionally, the hypothalamus secretes hormones which trigger acid secretion in the stomach and trigger fullness/hunger.
