It is indeed a carbohydrate, but in a different form. it is a SIMPLE carbohydrate that provides you with quick energy, but completly backfires, because it makes you crash and have half the energy you once had, and results in excess fat if you eat too much and don't burn it off. COMPLEX carbohydrates are the good guys, although they don't digest as fast as sugar, it is still faster and easier to digest than something like protein and provides you with longer laster energy since it takes more time to digest. If you're gonna run alot or do other vigorus excercise, you shold eat alot of complex carbs, not proteins or simple carbohydrates, such as sugar.
