As far as I know it is perfectly safe to use Aloe Vera both internally and externally. Externally, it is the best I've ever used for burns. Just break off a bit of the leaf and rub the "goo" inside on the burn. I've also purchased Aloe Vera in drinkable form from health food stores. I suppose it's possible that one could be allergic to Aloe Vera, but I've never heard of anyone who is.
