Check the amp rating of the heater and do the math. Electric heaters pull A LOT of current, so I'm guessing you'd be near the 50amp max.

How many 8.5 amp's heaters could be installed on a 50 amp circuit breaker?

Remember that the breaker protects the wire size. You would have to use a #6 wire to operate the heaters. To find out how many heaters that can be connected, divide 50 by 8.5 amps. Before you do any work yourself,on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances, always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energizedIF YOU ARE NOT REALLY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOBSAFELY AND COMPETENTLYREFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.

How much electricity can run on 15amp breaker?

Since baseboard heaters come in many different wattages vs. lengths I guess the best answer would be, you can load up to 2880 watts of baseboard heaters on a 15 amp two pole breaker at 240 volts.

What is a 15 amp double pole breaker?

A double pole breaker has one pole attached to one side of your breaker panel's bus or hot leg, and another pole attached to another hot leg or bus, if it is in a residential panel (in the US) each leg of the breaker is 120 volts to ground or neutral and 240 hot leg to hot leg. The 15 amp indicates that the breaker will trip if the circuit exceeds 15 amps across the two outputs of the breaker.

What size of circuit breakers needed to run two 1500 watt heaters in parallel that are 240 volts?

I = W/E. 1500/240 = 6 amps for each heater. In parallel the total connected load will be 12 amps. A #14 conductor is rated at 15 amps and de rated to 80% can carry 12 amps continuous. The breaker needed for this would be a two pole 15 amp breaker. If this is a new installation I would use a #12 conductor for the two heaters on a two pole 20 amp breaker. The conductors will run much cooler using a larger size.

Does electric water heaters have carbon monoxide?

Electric water heaters have not carbon monoxide.

Is the an electric heater with auto shut-off?

Yes, all electric heaters are required to have an emergency circuit breaker which shuts the unit down in the event of overheating.

Two 100 watt heaters are to be connected in paralleto a 115 V source Will a 20 A circuit breaker be able to carry current without tripping Justify answer?

Certainly, 100Watt of power requires only about 1 A at 115V However, if you made a typo and intended to say two 1000 Watt heaters Then I would use a 25A. The 20A breaker would be ok, but will be on the cusp of tripping as the current would be closer to 18A. The typical 14AWG wiring in a house can carry up to 32Amps safely as a result the maximum circuit breaker to use would be 25Amps <<>> In the above answer it is stated that a #14 wire will carry up to 32 amps. This is completely false. A #14 wire is only rated at 15 amps. To carry 32 amps safely you would need to use a #8 wire which is three wire sizes larger that a # 14.

What are the three appliances that use the heating effect of electric circuit?

Three appliances that use the heating effect of electric circuits are electric stoves, electric heaters, and toaster ovens. These appliances utilize the electrical resistance in a circuit to generate heat for cooking or warming purposes.

What are the advantages of electric heaters over gas heaters?

One of the advantages of electric heaters over gas heaters is convenience. All homes are equipped with electricity, but not all homes have gas. But there are a variety of types of heaters, such as space heaters, hot water heaters, or furnaces. With electric heaters, there is no risk of becoming overcome with fumes.

Why would the electricity shut off when you plug in another appliance?

Heaters use a lot of power and can easily exceed the capacity of an already loaded circuit. Anything with a motor or fan will use more power when starting up than after it is already running. If the circuit breaker or fuse is tripping when you plug in or turn on the heater, then you may have too many things on that circuit. Look at every electrical device on the circuit and add up the total watts of each one (it's listed somewhere on each, usually the back or bottom). Divide the total wattage by 120 to get the total amperage needed on that circuit. The fuse or circuit breaker should be rated for at least as many amps needed or it will trip when the total is exceeded. You may have to find another place to plug the heater in or have a circuit added to handle the extra load. DON'T replace the fuse or circuit breaker with one rated for a higher load, the wiring may not be able to handle it and you could start a fire within the walls or attic. (Using extension cords for heaters in a house is a bad idea because the cord can overheat and start a fire.) If you aren't comfortable with this, find someone that knows what they are doing or hire a licensed electrician.

What are the negatives of Chromalox Heaters?

Gas heaters are slowly leaving the industry and are being replaced by electric heaters, which are created by Chromalox. However, by using an electric heater, electric bills get expensive.
