The subarctic zone
The upward transition zone in the US is typically found in the northern part of the country, closer to the Canadian border. This zone marks the shift from a temperate climate to a colder subarctic climate, with shorter growing seasons and colder temperatures. States such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Maine are examples of areas where this transition zone can be observed.
Well there are only four main climate zones in Europe, so if they are not a part of the list, then they are not a main climate zone in Europe. The main climate zones are Mediterranean Climate, Continental Climate, Oceanic Climate, and Subarctic Climate. These climate zones may also be expressed as regions: Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Northern Europe.
Of course there are many interesting facts but if I was to pick two I would pick how far south and north the subarctic extents. The Subarctic refers to a climate zone and it is located below the Arctic. It reaches as far north as a few hundred kilometers (actually closer in some areas) the Arctic ocean in the Yukon and Alaska. It reaches as far south as North Dakota and Northern Ontario. It reaches across Canada from BC to Newfoundland, and is the majority of the Canadian climate, oops that would be a third interesting fact.
There is a tundra biome located in Alaska which is a state in the United States. The tundra biome is the coldest of all of the natural biomes.
