William Pitt the Younger was a British statesman known for his leadership during the Napoleonic Wars. He served as Prime Minister of Great Britain twice, from 1783-1801 and 1804-1806, and is credited with modernizing the British government's finances and playing a key role in the defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Trafalgar. Pitt's tenure also saw the abolition of the slave trade and the Act of Union with Ireland in 1801.
