Meteors, when they enter Earth's atmosphere, are primarily made of rock and metal. They often consist of materials such as silicates, iron, and nickel. As they travel through space, they can originate from asteroids, comets, or other celestial bodies. When they collide with Earth's atmosphere, they produce a bright streak of light due to intense friction and heat, leading to their common name, "shooting stars."
Meteors are typically solid pieces of rock or metal that enter Earth's atmosphere and burn up due to friction, creating a bright streak of light. Some meteors may contain some ice, but the overall composition is more likely to be rock or metal. Dust and gas can also be present in meteors, but they are not the primary components.
Mostly Meteors
Comets contain ice.
Rock, Ice, Dust
Comets and meteors are made of rocks and boulders same as on earth. But since they are in space for a long time, they might have some differences, little differences.

This can vary a lot between different meteors; the main classification, if I remember correctly, is between "ice meteors" that are made up mainly of ice, and "rock meteors", out of rocky materials.

Meteors mostly come from comets. I mean "meteors" not meteorites. Meteors are the things that burn up as they streak across the sky. They aren't the things that land on Earth.

CometsComets are objects composed mostly of ice and dust that grow tails when they approach the sun. Planets are made out of iron, rock, and pretty much everything in the periodic table. You could say meteors are concentrates of the iron, rock, and other stuff. When they hit planets they give it that concentrate that they carry.=)that made me sound like a geek
Meteors are made up of rocks and ice and dust from space where as shooting stars are falling stars.
