Some suggestions:
  • You get a snow day by the weather of course.
  • The temperature is taken into account. If it's too cold they don't want kids standing outside waiting for a bus.
  • Put an orange in the freezer.
  • Do the snow day dance.
  • Wear your pajamas backwards.
  • Flush ice down the toilet.
  • Put snow/ice in a bag under your bed.
  • Put a marble under your mattress.
  • Do all of your homework, because who wants homework on a snow day!?
  • Put a spoon under your pillow.
  • Tape a penny to your window.
  • Well, you could bribe the district school board into canceling school, which could cost thousands, but otherwise it's impossible to make it a snow day. It all depends on the weather. For the chances of a snow day to be high, the snow must usually (for most areas), accumulate at least 5 inches of snow. The snow must begin early morning or late at night and continue on HEAVILY throughout the school day. If you would like to calculate your chances of a snow day, go to the related link.
