Cobalt Blue Paint is made by combining the colors Cyan, Ultramarine Blue and White in proper amounts. It is made using acrylic artist paints used on canvas, you can get these paints at Walmart or at an art store like Michael's. You can surf the web to see the color as it appears in nature and in man-made objects like vases, and then experiment until you reach that color. Home Depot carries "Behr" paints for walls, and they have a near match/similar color to Cobalt Blue called Cerulean #560B-7; If painting a wall with this, do 2 or more coats, and after it dries, then go back over it with 2 coats of Cobalt Glaze #570B7 - both paints are from Behr, sold at Home Depot (in the year 2009/Houston TX) I'm planning to repaint my Dining Room with these and then hang Greek Orthodox Icons (Pictures) displaying Byzantine scenes of Christ, the Virgin Mary, Angels and Saints all over the wall, with backgrounds of Gold and Silver - you can see these beautiful Iconic pictures on-line under "Greek Orthodox Icons". It will be a very beautiful room. Beneath my growing collection of these icons, I plan to place an ornate table and place rows of candles in cobalt blue glasses that all match, and an incense burner at the center - it will be a beautiful sight. My dining room already boasts an Italian chandelier that has a lighter version of cobalt blue on its ceramic body, and is ornamented with miniature white greek images. I also have a wonderful collection of crosses, which I am adding to. So that is "how" you can easily get cobalt blue paint, either for your own artwork or for home-decore, and what you can do with it once you get it. Good luck in whatever you do with cobalt blue - it is a color that makes your eyes 'sing', and I would describe it as, that it does for your eyes what that really "tart and tangy" candy does for your mouth!
