As you might know, when a being gets desperately hungry it does not mind even eating it's own kind.
Food is a requirement for life, but depending on how much and which you get, you may receive more or less of the thing which we call "Life".
As creatures that require food we have vastly overated what an applicable source of food and what a non-applicable food source is.
That being said,I am getting to the point where I want to specify with capital letters, that what they see as food and what you do is completely different.
They would not mind eating dirt, rocks, rubbish aswell as anything they encounter during the times they are hungry.
Most of the times those delicacies are by no means nutritious nor enough to mantain their life for a long period.

All in all, being born as the animals mentioned is a living hell and although some may think they too can have sources to food that animals not living in darkness do, it was but an optimistic idea for cockroaches get stomped, and the animals living in darkness too get stomped by fear, starvation, sadness and hopelessness.
Yours Truly, Grape Bearfinger.

It depends on the age and where they live. Animals with abundant amounts of food may not survive without food for two days because of the way they adapt. Animals where food is scarce are more likely to survive because they are used to not having food.
yes, well, if they have food to keep them living.
Only animals that live in the wild hunt for their own food. They prey on other animals.
I doubt living in complete darkness has any unknown major life reducing effect. Assuming you are getting the same exercise, diet, and vitamin d somehow, you would live a very boring, normal length life
as to the darkness, most, if not all of the organisms there are blind or have a bioluminescent light. As to the organisms that don't have mouths, they most likely get their energy from chemosynthetic bacteria that live inside or on their body.
Nature has evolved to the point where animals live, their food may be found also, otherwise, they would live in other places..Forests provide a bounty of food for wild animals.
