WHAT IS The property of a substance being able to dissolve in water?

The property of a substance being able to dissolve in water is known as solubility. A substance that can dissolve in water is termed "soluble," while one that does not dissolve is "insoluble." Solubility depends on various factors, including temperature, pressure, and the chemical nature of the solute and solvent. Polar substances, such as salts and sugars, typically have higher solubility in water due to their ability to interact with water molecules.

Does hydrophilic dissolve in waTER?

Yes, hydrophilic substances dissolve in water. Hydrophilic molecules are attracted to water molecules due to their polar nature, allowing them to form bonds with water and dissolve in it. This is in contrast to hydrophobic substances, which repel water and do not dissolve in it.

When a substance doesnt dissolve in water what is it said to be?

This substance is insoluble in water.
