If there are a lot of scraps, you can first use sedimentation, which means you leave the water there for a bit until the large scraps have sunken to the bottom of the container. Then you pour the water out into another container, leaving you with cleaner ocean water.

Next, only the small scraps are left. There are 2 options to filter out the scraps -

First, you can use filter paper and a filter funnel, but you probably don't have that.

Second, you can make your own filter, (I think a bottle would be easier instead of a plastic bag, and you don't have to use all those ingredients - you can replace charcoal with cotton, sand, pebbles etc.)

Note: There may still be small solid impurities, and the filter can't take away the soluble impurities which have dissolved in the ocean water (e.g. salt).
