What force is responsible for the big bang?

There is no way of knowing at our current level of physics understanding; we do not know what conditions prevailed at the time of the Big Bang, or what - if anything - preceded it. We don't even know if the concept of "before" makes any sense in terms of the Big Bang.

maybe this isn't an official answer but, perhaps the material of a previous universe collapsed in upon itself, then the big bang caused that material to re-expand. this idea supports the theory that the current universe will eventually stop expanding and collapse, it also implies that perhaps our current universe is not the first, nor will be the last. to take it further perhaps "parallel universes" are actually residual energy from previously existing universes. however i cant even begin to explain how the very first big bang, if there was one, came to be. this is a personal theory, so take it with a grain of salt. if you like it however, feel free to spread it around.

We don't know what was responsible for the big bang. Four of the fundamental forces we are familiar with decoupled from one another afterwards. The first force to split off was gravity. Electromagnetism and the strong and weak nuclear forces split apart shortly after that. But what caused the big bang we don't know. One guess is some sort of "quantum fluctuation."

The force responsible for the Big Bang is thought to be gravity. At the moment of the Big Bang, the universe started expanding rapidly from a singularity, and gravity played a key role in this expansion and the formation of all matter and energy in the universe.
